Stanley Brinks, born in Paris in 1973, is a singer-songwriter celebrated for his distinctive anti-folk style, which is both playful and insightful. Of Swedish and Moroccan descent, he initially performed as André Herman Düne, co-founding the indie-rock band Herman Düne in the late 1990s. After several albums and extensive touring, he departed the band in 2006, adopting the moniker Stanley Brinks. His musical journey has been eclectic, collaborating with artists like The Wave Pictures and delving into genres such as European calypso, inspired by early Trinidadian carnival music.

Freschard, originally from a farm in French Burgundy, moved to Paris at 18, where she worked in a café and began her musical career with songs written for her by Stanley Brinks. After a stint in New York, she relocated to Berlin in 2004, recording her debut LP, "Alien Duck." Her music blends elements of folk, pop, and calypso, reflecting her diverse experiences and collaborations.
