About Northern Quarter

Northern Quarter is an independent live music venue and events space opened in December 2017. Welcoming and inclusive, the space host’s an array of music and performance from local and nationally touring live bands to Classic reggae vinyl dances, open mics and exhibitions. All powered through our custom built Axis Sound System PA. We have an all standing capacity limited at 120 but this reduces with seating options.

Access to NQ is at street level, with four steps inside the front door which give access to the venue. Steps are 104cm wide and the doorway is 78cm.

The area to the right of the entrance, ahead to the bar and access to toilets is all on one level. The area directly in front of the stage is on a slightly lower level which is accessed by two steps.

If you require a seat for the show. We can provide a seat to the right hand side of the entrance and the stage.

We are located in Huddersfield town centre, with many bus routes nearby. Huddersfield train station is 220m away.

There is access on Wood Street for cars and taxis to drop off outside the venue, right next to the entrance. Occasionally Wood Street will be closed to traffic when we have events that are also using the outdoor space. On these occasions, drop off will be on St Peter’s Street, approximately 35 metres from Northern Quarter.

There is one disabled parking bay on Wood Street by the entrance to Northern Quarter. This space is not available on the small number of occasions that Wood Street is closed to traffic, for Northern Quarter events that use the outdoor space.

There is on street parking throughout the town centre, including on St Peter’s Street and Byram Street nearby. On street parking is free for Blue Badge holders.

Doors for events usually open at xxpm for evening events, but this can sometimes change depending on the event.
