"Over the next six weeks, we are going to see the most racist general election in many years. The government, and far-right parties, will continue to use migrants, asylum seekers, and people from marginalised groups as scapegoats for the systematic underfunding of public services. The trade union movement has a central role to play in challenging racism and bigotry. Now more than ever, we need to unite people in solidarity with the struggles ahead. Love Music Hate Racism seeks to ‘Stop the Hate’ by bringing people together and opposing far-right ideas using the power of live music.

The StopTheHate campaign has managed to assemble a coalition of activists and campaign groups who have never worked together before including XR London, Just Stop Oil, Stand Up to Racism, Fossil Free Pride, Jewish Socialist Group, Peace & Justice Project, Homes for All, Strike Solidarity, PCS, multiple Trade Unionist and many more. We feel that by bringing all of our campaigns together we are able to demonstrate our message clearly,

#UnityNotDivison. It is vital that we sing this loud and clear throughout the general election. The StopTheHate campaign is putting on a non-partisan tour around Britain, during the election, to celebrate diversity and oppose racism being peddled in the election campaign from any quarters. The tour will utilise music to promote unity and cultural awareness admits a climate of divisive rhetoric.

Each night, there will be live performances from headline musicians, DJs, and poets. Local trade unionists and activists will be invited to speak from the stage and hold their own stalls. The events will take place in venues we have existing relationships with from our past tours or those suggested by the Musicians Union and Music Venues Trust"

Huddersfield leg in collaboration with Immigration and Asylum Support in Kirklees. We will be raising funds for both IASK and LMHR
