Weaving jazz and folk to create her unique, intimate sound, Leeds singer and saxophonist Emma Coates creates deeply personal storytelling.

Taking inspiration from the likes of This Is The Kit, Adrianne Lenker, and Snowpoet, she explores feminine identity and growth, complimented by the delicate and airy tones of her voice and the instrumentalists around her (Tom McEwen, Nika Ticciati, and Louis Berthoud).

Her debut EP ‘Borrower’ was released in October 2025, with acclaim from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 3, Amazing Radio, and RGM Magazine.
