Mills & Farrell
Mills & Farrell are noted for their rootsy minimalist approach. Using two voices and acoustic instrumentation, inspired by Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, The Milk Carton Kids, and the Waifs, the duo have a timeless sound characterized by intricately woven acoustic guitars and tight harmonies. Coming from backgrounds of Australian rock (David Farrell) and Nova Scotia folk (Janet Mills), geographic improbability adds an undefinable element to their modern and traditional offerings.
Leo Brazil will showcase some of the more spacey, chilled-out songs from Alone with ambient delays and lo-fi folky influences.
Doors at 4 with a few floor spots for local songwriters to come and try out new material on our lovely listening audience between 4:30 and 5, a support slot from Leo and then the main act for the evening before wrapping up around 7 for a nice early Sunday finish. Expect chilled out vibes, a seated immersive listening experience, and to hear artists talk about their craft, inspirations and share how their songs came to be.
